If you plan to prospect on your own in Alaska, don't go without this book! You will save yourself a lot of time and trouble when you know what areas are open and accessible, and what areas yield the most gold.

This comprehensive, detailed 72 page guide is written by longtime Alaskan prospector Ron Wendt, and it's the best source we know of for describing where you can legally search for gold throughout the state. This is an excellent value - lots of good info, cheap!

If you prefer a guided trip, with lodging, etc., you have a few options. My claims are NOT open to recreational mining. But there are other places in Alaska that are set up for that purpose. Yes, they cost money, and they are not cheap. That's because they take you right to the gold!
